This volume gathers over forty papers by leading scholars in the field of the history of rhetoric. It illustrates the current trends in this new area of research and offers a great richness of insights. Laurent Pernot is Professor of Greek Language and Literature at the University of Strasbourg, corresponding member of the Institut de France, and Immediate Past President of the International Society for the History of Rhetoric. He has published extensively on the history of rhetoric, including Rhetoric in Antiquity (The Catholic University of America Press, 2006).
