In the last two decades, research on the Book of the Twelve has shown that this corpus is not just a collection of twelve prophetic books. It is rather a coherent work with a common history of formation and, based upon this, with an overall message and intention. The individual books of the Book of the Twelve are thus part of a larger whole in which they can be interpreted in a fruitful manner. Lena-Sofia Tiemeyer, D.Phil. (2002), University of Oxford, is Reader in Hebrew Bible at the University of Aberdeen. She has published widely, including Priestly Rites and Prophetic Rage (2006) and For the Comfort of Zion (2011).

Jakob Wöhrle, Dr.Theol. (2006), Universität Münster, is Professor of Old Testament at Universität Tübingen. He has published on various parts of the Old Testament, including Die frühen Sammlungen des Zwölfprophetenbuches (2006) and Der Abschluss des Zwölfprophetenbuches (2008).
