Living Culturally Responsive Mathematics Education with/in Indigenous Communities explores challenges and possibilities across international contexts, involving Indigenous and non-Indigenous scholars, teachers and Elders responding to calls for improved education for all Indigenous students. Authors from Australia, New Zealand, United States, Micronesia, and Canada explore the nature of culturally responsive mathematics education. Chapters highlight the importance of relationships with communities and the land, each engaging critically with ideas of culturally responsive education, exploring what this stance might mean and how it is lived in local contexts within global conversations. Power has been a defining and constitutive theme of adult education scholarship for over a century and is a central concern of many of the most famous and influential thinkers in the field. Adult education has been particularly interested in how an analysis of power can be used to support transformative learning and democratic participation. In a fragile and interdependent world these questions are more important than ever. The aim of this collection is to offer an analysis of power and possibility in adult education which acknowledges, analyses and responds to the complexity and diversity that characterises contemporary education and society.

Power and Possibility: Adult Education in a Diverse and Complex World explores the topic of power and possibility theoretically, historically and practically through a range of perspectives and in relation to varied areas of interest within contemporary adult education. It is concerned with addressing how power works in and through adult education today by exploring what has changed in recent years and what is shaping and driving policy. Alongside this the book explores ways of theorising learning, power and transformation that builds and extends adult education philosophy. In particular it takes up the themes of diversity and solidarity exploring barriers and possibilities for change.

Ever since the rise of the so-called analytic school in 20th century philosophy, philosophical analysis has often been considered to be synonymous with conceptual analysis. However, criticism has also been levelled at the conceptual analysis procedures, which undermined confidence in the merits of conceptual analysis. As far as the clarification of concepts is concerned, explication is therefore sometimes proposed as an alternative means.
Combining historical and systematic perspectives, this volume collects new work on analytical and explicatory methods within 20th century philosophy. The contributions explore how clarificatory and reformatory methods of engaging with concepts have been construed and utilized by such different authors as Aristotle, Russell, Wittgenstein, Carnap or Mackie, marking out underappreciated congruencies and reevaluating historical disputes. They explore the role of analysis in metaphysics as well as metaethics and examine how methodological accounts relate to underlying ideas about concepts.

Das Buch befasst sich mit drei Sammlungen von Amateuraufnahmen aus der Zeit des Nationalsozialismus und konfrontiert sie mit Siegfried Kracauers Geschichte – Vor den letzten Dingen – mehrere verschollene Gegenstände, die zu der Frage führen, wie sich das Kleine im historiografischen Prozess zum Großen positionieren lässt. Kracauers methodisches Grundproblem des Maßstabs wird in Varianten durchgespielt: vom Einzelding zur Geschichte, vom Gelegenheitsbild zum Filmmotiv, vom Aufsatz zur Filmtheorie und zuletzt vom kleinen Film zur kulturgeschichtlichen Mikrologie. Dabei geht es nicht um Kleinigkeitskrämerei, sondern um das, was bleibt, wenn die großen Schauplätze der Filmgeschichte in den Hintergrund treten.

Mit dem Begriff der Non-Person nimmt der Band rechtliche, medizinische, politische und gesellschaftliche Inklusions- wie Exklusionsverfahren in den Blick, die über das Mensch-Sein, den Personenstatus und seine Grenzen bestimmen.
Der Band versucht den Begriff der Person vor dem Hintergrund seiner breiten interdisziplinären Semantik zu definieren und nimmt spezifisch ästhetische Figurationen von Non-Persons in den Blick. Medial vermittelte wie literarisch imaginierte Non-Persons lassen sich etwa dort untersuchen, wo sie als Grenzgänger geltende Binäroppositionen sichtbar machen und deren identitätsstabilisierendes wie -destabilisierendes Potenzial kritisch befragen. Besondere Brisanz erfährt der Begriff durch weltweite Flucht- und Migrationsbewegungen, die nicht erst im 21. Jahrhundert die Frage nach der menschenrechtlichen Situation Flüchtender, Staatenloser und Asylsuchender dringlich werden lassen.

Panpsychism has become a highly attractive position in the philosophy of mind. On panpsychism, both the physi-
cal and the mental are inseparable and fundamental features of reality. Panentheism has also become immensely popular in the philosophy of religion.
Panentheism strives for a higher reconciliation of an atheistic pantheism, on which the universe itself is causa sui, and the ontological dualism of necessarily existing, eternal creator and contingent, finite creation. Historically and systematically, panpsychism and panentheism often went together as essential parts of an all-embracing metaphysical theory of Being. The present collection of essays analyses the relation between panpsychism and panentheism and provides critical reflections on the significance of panpsychistic and panentheistic thinking for recent debates in philosophy and theology.

The purpose of this study about theological aspects of culture and social ethics is to investigate the relation between the theological tradition arising from Luther and the cultural immateriality which is culturally expressed in material progress and work.
It is necessary to remember that it was Protestant theology itself that enabled this secularization process. Protestantism and modernity with its secularization proposal are processes that condition one another. Paul Tillich calls modernity and secularization the “Protestant Era” in the context of the Western culture of economic progress. It was mainly the theological tradition of the Enlightenment that separated the kingdom of the right from the kingdom of the left, law and gospel, creation and redemption, in such a way that the scope of creation became so autonomous that it dismissed the justification through the work of Christ, the gospel.

With the end of the Second World War, all its violence, war crimes, and sufferings as well as the atomic threat of the Cold War period, societies began to gradually remember wars in a different way. The glorious or honorable element of the age of nationalism was trans-formed into a rather dunning one, while peace movements demanded an end of war itself.
To analyze these changes and to show how war was remembered after the end of the Second World War, the present volume assembles the work of international specialists who deal with this particular question from different national and international perspectives. The contributions analyze the role of soldiers, perpetrators, and victims of different conflicts, including the Second World War. They show which motivational settings led to the erection of war memorials reflecting the values and historical traditions of the second half of the 20th and the 21st centuries. Thus, this interdisciplinary volume explores how war is commemorated and how its actors and victims are perceived around the globe.

First, the title deals with the cultural influences in Europe (Judaism, Christianity, Enlightenment) and China (Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism). In the second part, the focus encompasses a dialogue of European philosophy, with Rousseau, Herbart, Gadamer and Hegel.
