Studies in the History of Christian Traditions is a peer-reviewed book series intended to encourage the study of continuities and discontinuities in the history of Christian thought through monographs dealing with single authors, movements and ideas. In view of the urgent necessity to transcend confessional and language barriers, the series is dedicated to this subject-matter as the common focus for the research of scholars of various religious and national backgrounds.

General Editor: Robert J. Bast.
Brill Research Perspectives in Religion and Politics has two main goals. Firstly, it aims to provide a platform for the burgeoning scholarship on religion and politics that cannot find visibility within the constricted boundaries of either religious studies or political science. Secondly, it seeks to examine topics that are intensely debated in the public space from an objective, data-driven perspective. In doing so, it will offer alternatives to ideological or partisan positions particularly within hotly debated topics such as violence and politics, human rights, or democracy and secularism. In order to achieve these goals, the series will give priority to research that addresses contemporary debates on religion and politics in a particular national or regional context or in a comparative way across religions or political contexts.

Supplements to Method & Theory in the Study of Religion publishes book length manuscripts which explicitly address the problems of methodology and theory in the academic study of religion. This includes such traditional multidisciplinary points of departure as history, philosophy, anthropology, psychology, and sociology, but also the natural sciences, and such other approaches as feminist theory, discourse analysis, and ideology critique. Supplements to Method & Theory in the Study of Religion also concentrates on the critical analysis of the history of the study of religion itself.

The series has published an average of 1,5 volumes per year since 2013.
