This is a peer-reviewed, inclusive, non-Eurocentric, multi-disciplinary book series devoted to the interdisciplinary study of ancient civilizations from all continents.
- ALAC is fully-funded by the Research Centre For History and Culture (RCHC). All volumes are published under a CC BY-NC-ND license.
- Proposals must present original work and must have been submitted exclusively to ALAC. Both monographs and edited volumes are welcome.
- Submissions may regard any civilizations from any continents, developed between prehistory and the 15th century AD, that is, the fall of the Eastern Roman Empire.
- Submissions may regard any aspects of Antiquity: history, archaeology, art and architecture, philology, linguistics, literature, philosophy, religion studies, sociology, anthropology, etc.
- ALAC also considers studies of oral literature, such as proverbs and folklore, as well as field work on endangered languages, which represent the legacy of ancient traditions verbally transmitted from generation to generation.

Die inter- und transdisziplinäre Studienreihe Beyond Historicism – New Testament Studies Today baut auf den philologischen Prinzipen auf, die der Übersetzung des Frankfurter Neuen Testaments von Stefan Alkier und Thomas Paulsen zu Grunde liegen. Der philologisch-kritische Respekt vor der jeweiligen Ausdruckskraft der Zeichenproduktion anderer ist nicht nur die wissenschaftliche, sondern auch die ethische Grundlage der Studienreihe Beyond Historicism. Sie publiziert kritische philologische, exegetische und historische Monographien und Sammelbände, die in unmittelbarer oder auch mittelbarer Weise neutestamentliche Texte in ihren jeweiligen enzyklopädischen Kontexten erhellen. Die Verpflichtung zur gründlichen kritischen Philologie als Grundlage der Datenanalyse und der historischen Hypothesenbildung will jeglichen Historizismus hinter sich lassen. Manuskripte können in deutscher, englischer, französischer und italienischer Sprache eingereicht werden. Sie durchlaufen ein peer-review-Verfahren innerhalb des Herausgeberkreises und seines wissenschaftlichen Beirats.

The philological-critical respect for the respective expressive power of the sign production of others is not only the scientific but also the ethical basis of the Beyond Historicism study series. It publishes critical philological, exegetical and historical monographs and anthologies that directly or indirectly illuminate New Testament texts in their respective encyclopedic contexts. The commitment to thorough critical philology as the basis for data analysis and historical hypothesis formation aims to leave behind any form of historicism. Manuscripts can be submitted in German, English, French and Italian. They undergo a peer-review process within the editorial board and its scientific advisory board.

Die Biblische Zeitschrift, eine der führenden internationalen Zeitschriften für biblische Studien, lädt Forscher dazu ein, herausragende Monographien und Tagungsbände in deutscher, englischer und französischer Sprache für ihre neu gegründete Reihe „Biblische Zeitschrift Supplements“ (BZ Sup) einzureichen. Diese dem Peer-Review-Verfahren unterliegende Buchreihe beabsichtigt, das Verständnis der biblischen Texte des alten und Neuen Testamentes zu vertiefen. Auch Manuskripte zu philologischen oder textkritischen Fragestellungen und zu Fragen der historischen und kulturellen Kontextualisierung einschließlich der Analyse der zwischentestamentlichen und deuterokanonischen Literatur sowie zu literarischen, hermeneutischen und theologischen Fragestelllungen sind ebenso willkommen wie Untersuchungen zur Wirkungsgeschichte biblischer Texte. Currents of Encounter invites scholarly contributions that utilize interreligious, intercultural, comparative, postcolonial, and other contemporary critical interdisciplinary approaches from across all religious traditions, to address topical questions on the challenges and opportunities arising from intercultural/interreligious engagements, or the intersections of cultures and religions.
Studies dealing explicitly with the dynamics of the intersection of religious and cultural traditions are increasing every year, and scholars have become aware of the complexity and diversity of interreligious and intercultural relations. Recent literature offers a broad panoply of theoretical approaches from theologies of religions to comparative theologies, from discourse analysis to a postcolonial critique focusing on issues of power, from feminist readings asking about the specific role of women in interreligious dialogue to interreligious hermeneutics exploring how meaning may travel across cultural and religious traditions. Mit der Globalisierung entstehen zunehmend komplexe Abhängigkeiten auch auf der kulturellen Ebene. Identitäten und Weltanschauungen verändern sich daher mit einer zunehmenden Dynamik, die nur mit Blick sowohl auf die lokale Tradition als auch die interkulturell-globale Dimension verstanden werden kann. Dies gilt insbesondere für Religionen und religiöse Phänomene. Die Reihe Global Religion | Religion global stellt sich dieser für die Moderne typischen reflexiven Verschränkung, indem sie durch eine kulturanalytische Perspektive geprägt ist, die Religionen, religiöse Phänomene und Weltanschauungen der heutigen Zeit in ihrer komplexen Verwobenheit reflektiert. Theologisch fundiert ist sie dadurch, dass (religiöse) Überzeugungen auch von innen heraus betrachtet und verstanden werden. Inhaltlich werden in der Reihe Studien und Sammelbände aufgenommen, die lokale Situationen in ihrer religiös-weltanschaulichen Prägung oder überregionale/globale religiöse Phänomene mit Bezug zur heutigen Situation bearbeiten. Damit soll ein Mosaik entstehen, das anhand einzelner Untersuchungen tiefgründig die heutige Welt in ihren aktuellen weltanschaulich-religiösen Dynamiken erfasst.
