The Hebrew verse numbering is used. References to the Bible that do not include the name of the book (for instance, 22:2) are references to the book of Job. Unless noted otherwise the translation is the NRSV. At times, for aesthetic and literary purposes, I delete conjunctions found in translations. Vowels are only printed when first citing a passage from the Hebrew Bible or whenever the text might be unclear. Subsequent citations of the text are printed without vowels.
