The existence and successful completion of this book is a collective effort involving contributions from several dedicated professionals. We wish to acknowledge the wisdom of our professional crowd and the North Carolina A&T State University community who made this book possible. Since the idea started as a conversation at an AECT summer leadership meeting, we first want to thank Anthony “Tony” Piña for encouraging the submission and both Chris and Tony for their wisdom throughout the entire process. Their dedication to education technology leadership is admirable. We also leaned on the wisdom of our professional crowd to compile and review each chapter. Therefore, we would like to recognize our professional colleagues: Betty Jo Bouchey, Joanie Chavis, Michael Graham, Prathamesh P. Churi, Tom Hergret, Bessie Nkonge, Kristin Palmer, Anthony Piña, Wilhelmina Savenye, and Courtney Thornton. Thank you, colleagues, for your time reading chapters, and in some instances multiple chapters, to provide concise feedback and recommendations.

We are so proud of our N. C. A&T home team for their talent and devotion. We thank Ms. Kania Carlton and Mr. Armad Colaire, undergraduate students in the College of Science and Technology, for their talent and for inspiring the design of the cover for this book. We especially recognize our Center of Excellence in Cybersecurity Research, Education, and Outreach colleagues Mohd Anwar and Hossein A Sarrafzadeh, the Extended Campus staff Sabrina M. Vollrath-Bueno and David J. Horgan and our simply amazingly dedicated F.D. Bluford Library colleagues starting with Dean Vicki Coleman, Forrest Foster, Stephen P. Bollinger, and John C. Teleha who all rolled up their sleeves to deliver extra logistical and editorial support because, well … that’s what Aggies Do!

And to the contributing authors, we convey our gratitude for their tireless dedication to technology leadership and willingness to share their stories, experiences, and practical recommendations for lasting change. Their commitment to access is evident. The Notes on Contributors section highlights their breadth of leadership and diverse perspectives, all were essential to the publication.

Finally, we extend our appreciation for personal “release time” to our families: April Cobb, Olivia Cobb, and Apria Cobb along with the “A” men; Bobie, Scott, and Daniel Amankwatia.
