Thank you family, friends, and loved ones. The people in my life, those who are present, those who have passed, and those who are newly connected, are everything. I so appreciate all the teachers, parents and support professionals who work to empower students at Kid Esteem Elementary School, especially drama therapist Sami Jurman and all the excellent education, psychology, social work, and creative arts therapy interns from New York University and Adelphi University. Thank you John Bennett, Jolanda Karada, and the great team at Brill for choosing to publish this work, dealing with my ‘technical difficulties’, and being so lovely throughout the process.

A big thanks to the always inspiring, comprehensively cool, delicate folks at CSC, most notably Lindsay Triffletti, Julian ‘JMan’ Trezise, Jerry Passalacqua, and especially Joe Kelly for all your interest and terrific feedback! Jeff Robbins and Peter Frazer thanks for being my big brother buddies.

And to Marianne Franzese, with the greatest respect for all the roles we’ve embodied with each other, sometimes magic, sometimes tragic, always sacred, this book is yet another manifestation of our soulful collaboration, which I am always so happy to acknowledge and feel tremendous gratitude for every day of my life.
