Ewa Latoszek, Prof

is Full Professor (economics) and Head of the Jean Monnet Chair of the European Union, Warsaw School of Economics (SGH); Director of Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence (CEWSE). In her career, she was awarded several international and national awards, including the EUI (Florence, Italy) fellowship, two awards from the Minister of Science and Higher Education for scientific and organizational achievements, the Bronze and Silver Cross of Merit awarded by the president of Poland, and over 20 Rector of Warsaw School of Economics Awards. In her research, she specializes in global and regional studies, development economics, European integration, and EU policies. She also coordinated several international and national grants, including the FP7. She has been a visiting professor in many universities, including EUI (Florence), LSE, Canterbury University (New Zealand), and NUS (Singapore). She has also served as the expert in two EC Advisory Groups under Horizon 2020. As an expert, she participated in the process of Polish accession to EU. She also contributed significantly to establishing the cooperation of SGH with Ernst & Young in the field of education in Poland as the Director of Joint Post-diploma Studies. Agnieszka Kłos, PhD

is Assistant Professor at the Jean Monnet Chair of the European Union, Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). Her research interests include international finance, public finance, international relations, and European studies. Author of numerous articles and book chapters in the field of public finance, the EU budget, and the management of instruments financed from EU funds. She has been awarded many times by the Rector of the Warsaw School of Economics for scientific and organizational achievements. She is a member of the editorial board of the Review of European Affairs and a reviewer for Review of European Affairs and Studia EuropejskieEuropean Studies. She has almost 20 years of experience in the management of public funds (national and foreign). She worked at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Finance, the National Economy Bank (BGK), and the Marshal’s Office of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship in Warsaw. She participated in study visits to the Ministry of Finance in Germany and the Ministry of the Economy in France. She has also received and coordinated many international grants co-funded by the National Bank of Poland, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Erasmus+ (Lifelong Learning Programme) and others. She was the Treasurer and the Vice President of the Polish European Community Studies Association (PECSA). Aleksandra Borowicz, PhD

is Assistant Professor in the Department of International Economics and Economic Development at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Gdansk. She specializes in international economics, with a focus on international trade, foreign direct investment, and the economics of European integration. She has experience in applying for and implementing projects co-financed by the European Union. She is a member of the Team Europe Network at the European Commission in Poland. She is a member of the board of PECSA (Polish European Community Studies Association). She also holds a seat on the editorial boards of two journals: Review of European Affairs, published by PECSA, and European Integration Studies, published by Kaunas University of Technology. Leiza Brumat, PhD

is Senior Research Fellow at Eurac Research (Bolzano/Bozen, Italy) where she works on her research project “Policy Implementation in Global South Regionalism: Multilevel Migration Governance in South America” (POLIM), funded by the Autonomous Province of Bolzano/Bozen. She is also an Associate Research Fellow at the Institute for Comparative Regional Integration Studies of the United Nations University (UNU-CRIS). She is an international relations analyst and was awarded a PhD by FLACSO Argentina and an MA in international relations and negotiation by FLACSO and the Universidad de San Andrés. Her previous positions include Research Fellow at the Migration Policy Centre (MPC) of the European University Institute (EUI), Lecturer in international relations, regional integration, and international organizations at UADE and at the Universidad de San Andrés, in her native city Buenos Aires, as well as a Research Fellow for the National Council of Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) of Argentina. She has done research and teaching activities at the Università di Bologna and the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. She has provided policy advice for the European Union, the Mercosur, and the IOM. She has extensively published on regionalism, regional and global migration governance, and the free movement of persons. Giuseppe T. Cirella, PhD, Dr. Hab

is Professor of Human Geography, and works at the Faculty of Economics, University of Gdansk, Sopot, Poland, where he received his equivalency Doctor of Habilitation (Dr. Hab.) in economics and finance. He specializes in economic development, environmental social science, and sustainability. His interdisciplinary background also includes sociopolitical research throughout Eastern Europe, Africa, and China. After completing a PhD at Griffith University, Australia, within the Centre for Infrastructure Engineering and Management, on developing a sustainability-based index, he founded the Polo Centre of Sustainability in Italy. Notably, he has held professorships and scientific positions at Saint Petersburg State University, Russia; Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, China; Life University, Cambodia; and the Free University of Bozen, Italy. In his early career, he worked with the Canadian International Development Agency in Indonesia as well as with Radarsat International in Brazil. Rasa Daugėlienė, PhD

is Associate Professor at the Scientific Group of Public Governance Research in the Department of Social Science, Arts, and Humanities at Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania. She specializes in the economics of EU integration, the macroeconomic stability of state economies, the workings of the EU internal market, as well as innovative public governance methods. She has experience in evaluating research projects as well as in their implementation (e.g., the H2020 project “FEDORA: Future-Oriented Science Education to Enhance Responsibility and Engagement”). She is an expert of the Lithuanian Science Council as well as an expert at the Quality Agency for Higher Education in Latvia (AIKA). Agnieszka Domańska, PhD, Dr. Hab

is Associate Professor at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH), the International Political Economy Department (ZMPE) at the Institute of International Studies (ISM), College of Socio-Economics (KES). An economist with a record of research and publications, she is also an experienced lecturer who has taught across Europe and beyond. Her research interests include international economic relations, international business cycle synchronization, transmission of macroeconomic shocks, the effects of international economic policy, the EU transport system, and cooperation between science and business in high-tech industries. She is a permanent member of the following academic societies: INFER; the Polish European Community Studies Association (PECSA); IISES; and the Polish Economic Society. For a number of years, she served as the President of the Staszic Institute. Since 2020 she has been the President of the Polish branch of Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRIME). Małgorzata Dziembała, PhD, Dr. Hab

Doctor habilitatus of economic science, PhD in economics, is Associate Professor, Head of the Department of International Economic Relations, University of Economics, in Katowice, Poland. Her research focuses on European economic integration, European Union regional policy, and competitiveness of the regions, international cooperation of the regions, including cross-border cooperation, and innovation policy. She publishes extensively and is the author or co-author of articles and chapters in monographs comprising more than a hundred publications. Her academic teaching refers to issues of international economics, management of EU funds, and international business. She has delivered lectures in France, Finland, Switzerland, the US, and other countries. She gained practical experience in the field of EU cohesion policy, including European territorial cooperation. Lenka Fojtíková, Prof.

is Professor of International Economic Relations, PhD in Economics, Vice-Rector for External Relations at PRIGO University, Havířov, Czech Republic. Her research focuses on international trade, WTO, EU trade policy, and European economic integration. She is the author or co-author of six monographs, more than 40 articles and conference papers that have been indexed in the Web of Science database and Scopus, and many others. Regarding research and publication, she has been successful in cooperating with partners at other universities in the Czech Republic and abroad. Her academic teaching focuses on international economics, the European Union, and the economic policies of selected countries. She supervised PhD students. She has delivered lectures in Japan, China, Belgium, Cyprus, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Romania. Katja Zajc Kejžar, Prof.

is Full Professor in the School of Economics and Business at the University of Ljubljana. Her research interests include various aspects of international economics, European economic integration, global governance, global value chains, and industrial restructuring and evolution. She has been a visiting researcher at the Department of Economics, University of Bologna, and a guest lecturer at Shanghai University of International Business and Economics, the University of Antwerp, and the University of Rijeka. Her bibliography includes over 60 papers/book chapters, including publications in high-ranking international journals, such as Review of World Economics, The World Economy, Open Economies Review, Small Business Economics, Journal of International Trade & Economic Development, and Applied Economics. Ewa Kosycarz, PhD

holds a PhD in the field of Public Finance. Her research areas cover state budgets, public expenditures, and public health-care systems. Her scientific interests include: efficiency, effectiveness, and the resilience of health-care systems at the macro-, mezzo- and microeconomic levels. She was an Advisor to the Secretary of State in the Performance Budget Department of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery. She cooperated with the Ministry of Finance in several projects concerning performance measurement, including training for government officials from several ministries and public agencies. She was commissioned by the Ministry of Finance to prepare a list of indicators used in the state performance budget. She cooperated with the Agency for Health Technology Assessment and Pricing. Anatoliy Kruglashov, Prof.

is a political scientist and historian, and works as Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, and Director of the Research Institute of European Integration and Regional Studies, Chernivtsi Jury Fedkovych National University, Ukraine. He is the titular member in the Group of Independent Experts on the European Chapter of Self-Government, Congress of Local and Regional Authorities, Council of Europe, since 2014. His research interests mainly cover European integration with special attention to EU policy towards Eastern Partnership countries, security studies, CEE and post-Soviet space political processes, political regionalism and ethno-politics, history of political ideas and political science, public administration and self-government. He has been Invited Scholar and Professor at the University of Alberta (Edmonton, Canada), Professor at Jagellonian University (Krakow, Poland), and Professor at the European Humanities University (Belarus and Lithuania). He has been invited to lecture in Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Russia, and Romania. He has also run several European and national research and didactic projects. Andrzej Latoszek, MA

gained his MA degree in finance and banking at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). He has also earned a diploma in real estate brokerage at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) and a diploma in property management from the Institute of Spatial Management and Housing in Warsaw. He is a licensed real estate broker and property manager. In his professional work, he focuses on banking relating to international cooperation and the role of international organizations in supporting the Polish economy and the transformation process. He has a wide range of professional experiences working in the banking sector (for, among others, Alior Bank, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BIK), which is the Polish national development bank, and PEKAO S.A.), dealing with international investment projects (structured export finance), trade finance, and restructuring corporate debt. Mirela Mărcuț, PhD

is Lecturer at the University of Oradea, in Romania. Her research interests include digital policies and governance, as well as smart cities, with a particular focus on the European Union. In 2017, she was awarded the Henri Rieben Scholarship at the Jean Monnet Foundation for Europe to study the beginnings of the information society in Europe. In 2020, she held a postdoctoral research scholarship in Darmstadt, Germany, studying the governance of smart cities. Willem Molle, Prof.

is Emeritus Professor in the School of Economics, Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands. He is a leading academic in his field. His research and publications mostly concern European and worldwide economic and social policy processes and institutional developments. He has published some widely acclaimed handbooks on these subjects. On the global level he has published Governing the World Economy (Routledge, 2014). These works and his numerous other books and articles show his capacity to apply theoretical insights with assessments of a wide ranging number of subjects in order to get to consistent strategic solutions. He has also broad experience in policy advice. He has been associated with ECORYS Research and Consulting in several senior roles. Marta Pachocka, PhD

is an economist and political scientist. Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Studies, the Institute of International Studies of the Collegium of Socio-Economics of the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH); researcher and co-coordinator of the Laboratory of Urban and Regional Migration Policies at the Centre of Migration Research (CMR) of the University of Warsaw (UW); and former Head of the Migration Policies Research Unit at CMR (2018–2022). She has considerable experience as both a team leader and member in implementing cross-sector and multi-stakeholder projects co-funded by the National Science Centre (Poland), National Bank of Poland, Capital City of Warsaw, various ministries, EU Programmes (Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, Lifelong Learning Programme, Erasmus+, Creative Europe), and others. She is on the board of the Polish European Community Studies Association (PECSA) and the Research Committee RC46 “Migration and Citizenship” of the International Political Science Association (IPSA). She supports the European Commission Representation in Poland as an EU expert member of the Team Europe Direct Poland network. She is also a member of the International Steering Committee of the Metropolis Project, focused on international migration and migration policies. She is a member of several national and international associations, including UACES, IMISCOE, IPSA, IASF, IPPA, and the Consultative Forum of the EU Agency for Asylum (since 2022) on behalf of the CMR UW. Nina Ponikvar, PhD

is an Associate Professor of Economics at the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana, in the Academic Unit for Economics. Her research interests include various aspects of firm performance, such as growth, profit margins, survival, and market exit, and the role of firm and industry characteristics, as well as economic valuation methods, and heterodox macroeconomic models of small open economies. She has published several papers in high-ranking scientific journals and monographs. She teaches microeconomics, macroeconomics, and managerial economics university courses. Magdalena Proczek, PhD, Dr. Hab

is Associate Professor at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). She graduated from SGH and engaged in postgraduate studies in pedagogy (SGH) and intellectual property protection (Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Lublin). Her research interests include the activities of international organizations, international relations, and European studies. She is a frequent author, co-author, and editor of academic articles, monographs, reviews, etc. She has also received and coordinated many grants (including Jean Monnet Permanent Course (1995–1998), Jean Monnet – Lifelong Learning Programme (2013–2015), Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence at WSECEWSE (2016–2019), Jean Monnet “Policy Debate with the Academic World,” (2016–2018), Jean Monnet “Support to Associations” (2016–2019), Strategic Partnerships Erasmus+ (2016–2019), Jean Monnet Module (2019–2022). She has worked at many Polish universities and supervised more than 240 MA and BA theses. She has received the Warsaw School of Economics Rector’s Team Award for Teaching 11 times, as well as numerous other awards, such as the Minister of National Education and Sport Team Award, as well as for her doctoral and habilitation dissertations. Ewa Osuch-Rak, PhD

is Assistant Professor at the Jean Monnet Chair of the European Union, Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). PhD in the field of social sciences in the discipline of economics and finance (PhD thesis was awarded a distinction). Research and development project manager with over 12 years of experience in project initiation, organization, and administration. She worked for public institutions, such as Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (PARP) and the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN), and for private organizations, such as high-tech companies in the space and energy sector. She graduated from SGH (MA in International Relations, 2009; postgraduate managerial program “Innovation Manager,” 2013). Author of articles covering innovation, technology transfer, space industry, as well as sustainable development, and co-editor of a monograph: Facing the Challenges in the European Union: Re-thinking EU Education and Research for Smart and Inclusive Growth (Polish European Community Studies Association, 2015). Angela Maria Romito, Prof., LLM

is Associate Professor of European Union Law, Faculty of Political Science, University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy. Fully qualified as Full Professor of EU Law since December 18, 2021, following nationally held competition procedure (Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale). She holds a Law degree cum laude from the University of Bari and an LLM from the School of Law/Center of International Legal Education at the University of Pittsburgh (2001). Lawyer in Bari since July 1997. Teaching experience since 2005. Aleksandra Szczerba, PhD, Dr. Hab

is Professor of Law at the Jacob of Paradies University in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Poland. An external expert of the European Institute for Gender Equality and expert of Team Europe. Visiting Professor at the University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy. Anti-discrimination lawyer at the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights. She specializes in EU law and anti-discrimination law. Her research interests include the principle of gender equality, the area of freedom, security, and justice (AFSJ), and the EU internal market. Piotr Stolarczyk, PhD

holds a PhD from the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) in Poland, presently Assistant Professor of Economics and Finance at Lazarski University in Warsaw. His academic teaching covers Economics, International Trade and Finance. He graduated from SGH with an MA in finance and banking. He also holds an MSc in European Union business and law from Aarhus University in Denmark and an EMBA degree from Warsaw University. He gained professional experience working for many years in the public and private sectors in Poland and abroad. Currently, he works in the banking sector dealing with international investment projects (export finance) and trade finance. Previously, he worked in the European Parliament where he was involved in the work of the EP Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs. He frequently comments on the economy and finance. Diego Caballero Vélez, PhD

is postdoctoral Researcher at the Centre of Migration Research (CMR) at the University of Warsaw. He holds a PhD in political science, EU politics and international relations from the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, Italy. He has spent visiting periods at the Migration Policy Centre (European University Institute),Refugee Studies Centre (University of Oxford) and the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH). In addition, he has presented research papers at seminars in several universities, such as the University of Oxford, the University of Catania, and SGH, as well as published with internationally recognized scientific journals. He was a teaching assistant at the Catholic University of Applied Sciences of Mainz and at the University of Pisa. Research interests: European migration, asylum and security policies, political economy, EU external action, and multilevel governance. Apart from his research experience, he has worked at the Research Executive Agency (European Commission) as a Blue Book trainee. Anna Wójtowicz, PhD

works at the Warsaw School of Economics, Collegium of Socio-Economics. Her research interests include energy for sustainable development, renewable energy sources, international economics, and development economics. She has participated in many national and international conferences. She is the author and co-author of numerous publications in the field of sustainable development, renewable energy sources, energy policy of member countries of the EU, and development economics. She has participated in the work of the organizing committee of the international congress of the project “Centre of Excellence at Warsaw School of Economics on the European Union’s Security and Stability in a New Economic, Social & Geopolitical Settlement.” Her academic teaching covers development economics, European integration, sustainable development, business cycle analysis, foreign market research, as well as macroeconomics and microeconomics.
