About the Author
Geert Reuten taught economics for 35 years at the School of Economics of the University of Amsterdam, where he is currently a guest research associate. From 2007–2015 and 2018–2019 he was a member of the Senate of the Netherlands for the Socialist Party and spokesperson for financial, monetary and economic affairs.
