About the Author

Geert Reuten taught economics for 35 years at the School of Economics of the University of Amsterdam, where he is currently a guest research associate. From 2007–2015 and 2018–2019 he was a member of the Senate of the Netherlands for the Socialist Party and spokesperson for financial, monetary and economic affairs.

He has authored four academic books, edited six books, and published 80 articles in academic journals and collections (the articles can be accessed at http://reuten.eu). He has also written 75 assessments of Dutch law proposals and published 65 articles in non-academic journals and newspapers.
