Katarzyna Drąg

holds a post-doctoral degree in media and social communication. A graduate of Polish philology and international cultural studies. Since 2011, she has been working at the Pontifical University of John Paul II in Cracow. She is the director of the Institute of Journalism, Media and Social Communication, and an assistant professor of Media and Social Communication Chair. Her research interests: history of media, history of journalism, the problem of forming and evolving of the ethos of a journalist (since mid XIX century), cross-cultural communicating, theory of communication and information competencies. She is a member of the scientific council of the journals: Com.Press (Crakow, Poland) and Пресознавство (Press Studies) (Lviv, Ukraine). She is a member of The Polish Communication Association (Head of History of Media Section) and member of Commission on Media Studies at Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences. Rafał Habielski

is a professor at Warsaw University (Faculty of Journalism, Information and Book Studies), historian, press and media expert, researcher of Polish political emigration (to Great Britain, France, etc.). His scientific interests include politics, history, press and mass media, and literature, with particular focus on the history of media (press, Radio Free Europe, etc.). Between 1984 and 2012, he was employed at the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Department of History of Polish Press in the 19th and 20th Centuries). In the years 2003–2010, he was a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Literary Research of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In 2009, he became a member of the Committee for Studies on the Polish Diaspora at the Polish Academy of Learning in Krakow and the Scientific Council of the quarterly Studia Medioznawcze/Media Studies published through Warsaw University. In the years 2010–2014, he was a member of the Programme and Scientific Board of the National Film Library, and between 2011 and 2015, a member of the Scientific Council of the Polish History Museum. Since 2012, he has been an active member of the Polish branch of the PEN Club. Joanna Hobot-Marcinek

holds a post-doctoral degree in literature sciences and is a professor at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. She currently heads the Center for Multimodal Educational and Cultural Research at the Faculty of Polish Studies. Evelina Kristanova

She holds lectures and classes on Journalism and Social Communication. In 2007, she received a bachelor’s degree in theology from Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. Since 2021, she has been part of the editorial board of the bi-annual Nasza Przeszłość. Between 2009 and 2012, she worked as an editorial assistant of the academic and didactic series Acta Universitatis Lodziensis. Folia Librorum. She has been a member of the Polish Communication Association since 2017, and the Society for the History of the Humanities since 2021. Her research interest focuses on the history of the media, in particular on 20th-century Catholic sociocultural periodicals in Poland and contemporary books in Bulgaria. Recently, she has commenced research into digital versions of periodicals and into the religious broadcasts for Radio Free Europe’s Broadcasting Service. Cecylia Kuta

is a historian, a holder of a post-doctoral degree in humanities, head of the Historical Research Office in Krakow of the Institute of National Remembrance, assistant professor at the The Pontifical University of John Paul II in Kracow, and member of the Historical Commission of the Katowice Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences and of the SPI (Information Professionals Association). She is also a member of the editorial board of the following scientific periodicals Pamięć i Sprawiedliwość, Zeszyty Historyczne WiN-u, Nasza Przeszłość. She researches the history of the Catholic lay association after the Second World War and of the creative and opposition communities in the Polish People’s Republic (PRL). Rafał Leśniczak

has a post-doctoral degree in social sciences in the discipline of social communication and media science (UMCS 2020), associate professor and head of the Department of Social Communication, Public Relations and New Media at the Institute of Media Education and Journalism at the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw. He is the author of over 90 scientific publications in the field of media, religion, and politics. His research interests focus on political communication, mediatization, and public relations. Dominika Popielec

(PhD media studies) holds a master’s degree in journalism and social communication from the University of Warsaw. She is a graduate of doctoral studies in political science at Maria Curie Skłodowska University in Lublin, when she works now. She is a member of the Polish Communication Association and the editor-in-chief of the magazine Com.press. She is a member of Editoral Council Media over Language, which is published by Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski. She is vice-chair of the Interpersonal Communication and Social Interaction section of the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA). She is the author of a monograph on investigative journalism. Małgorzata Strzelecka

is a Doctor of Humanities (with a specialization in 20th century history and the didactics of history), professor at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun. Since 2000, employee of the Institute of History and Archival Studies at Nicolaus Copernicus University. Since 1999, employee of the University High School. Member of the Polish Historical Society & secretary of the Toruń branch. Member of the Commission on the Didactics of History at the Polish Historical Society. Anna Szwed-Walczak

holds a doctoral degree in social sciences (specialisation: political science) and she is an assistant professor at the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin, Poland. She has been a member of the Polish Political Science Association since 2012, and the Polish Communication Association since 2016. Małgorzata Such-Pyrgiel

is an associated professor (habilitated doctor) of social sciences in the discipline of sociological sciences, methodologist. Vice-Rector for education and evaluation of research, for student matter, education in branch location and cooperation with the environment at the Alcide De Gasperi University of Euroregional Economy in Józefów. The author of publications on digital society and new technologies, participant of seminars and conferences devoted to this subject. In her works, she presents the social dimension of digital transformation as the 4th industrial revolution, affecting the life of modern human being. She is particularly interested in the analysis of changes in communication, education, media, labor market and public administration under the influence of intensive development of new digital technologies. Conducted research and published texts fit into the area of three sociological specialties: sociology of contemporary societies and modern and new technologies of marketing and economics, as well as lifestyle. As a promoter of the policy of quality and improvement of education, she is a member of the Polish Accreditation Committee, appointed by the Minister of Education, a member of the Polish Sociological Society and the European Sociological Society ESA and well as a manager of many research, development, and implementation projects.
