Brill Launches Two New Book Series in the Social Sciences


International scholarly publisher Brill expands its portfolio in the Social Sciences by adding two new interdisciplinary book series to the program: Critical Emotion Studies (CRES) and Theory Workshop - New Frontiers in Social and Political Theory (WSPT).

Trading Update Q3 2018, Brill confirms recently revised outlook for 2018

Brill confirms its outlook as presented in the press release of October 30th: revenue will decrease by 1% to 2% versus last year and the EBITDA will be 20% to 25% below the 2017 level. As always, the final results for 2018 will heavily depend on the revenue generated during the months of November and December.

Brill reports disappointing sales in Q3 and revises outlook for 2018

Brill’s Q3 sales were disappointing. Especially the print book sales in Europe and Asia showed a decline of approximately 10% compared to Q3 2017 as a result of lower market demand. Also journal sales in Q3 were significantly behind last year’s third quarter due to phasing of publication of journal issues. However, journal sales to date remain ahead of last year.

Brill CFO temporarily steps back due to illness

Due to a serious illness, Olivier de Vlam temporarily steps back as CFO and COO with immediate effect. Brill has appointed Wim Dikstaal as CFO ad interim and member of the Executive Committee of Brill effective 1 November 2018.

Brill signs agreement to join CEPIEC’s Iresearch Platform


International scholarly publisher Brill and China Educational Publications Import & Export Corporation Ltd. (CEPIEC) announced their agreement at the Frankfurt Book Fair to make Brill e-books available on CEPIEC’s newly launched Iresearch online platform.

Brill acquires Deo Publishing


Brill, the international scholarly publisher, has acquired the full publication program of Deo Publishing (Blandford Forum, UK) with immediate effect.

Last month Brill and Deo Publishing reached an agreement to transfer all assets of Deo Publishing to Brill. With this Brill acquires several important book series in Religious Studies, with some 50 available titles and a healthy pipeline.

Brill publishers has launched three new titles in its successful suite of review journals, Brill Research Perspectives, on the subject of Religious Studies. The first issues are planned for 2019 and will become available online and in print.

International publishing house Brill has launched a new journal: Diplomatica: A Journal of Diplomacy and Society. The journal is published in cooperation with the New Diplomatic History (NDH) Network. Diplomatica addresses the broad range of work being done across the Social Sciences and the Humanities that takes diplomacy as its focus of investigation.
