Brill Releases Key Titles on the Impact of the Roman Empire in Open Access

In collaboration with Professor Olivier Hekster and the Radboud University Nijmegen, Brill has released 14 volumes in the book series Impact of Empire in Open Access. Together, these titles form the complete collection of proceedings from the annual workshops by the International Network Impact of Empire. The workshops draw top contributions from various disciplines on topics that are still relevant today, such as migration, religion, cultural identity, and justice, focusing on the consequences of the actions and sheer existence of the Roman Empire in the regions it dominated.

Brill recently added COUNTER 5 to the reporting tools on the website, enabling customers to download their usage statistics through these new reports. Release 5 of the COUNTER Code of Practice is designed to balance changing reporting needs with the need to make things simpler, so that all content providers can achieve compliance and librarians can have usage statistics that are credible, consistent and comparable.

Brill has terminated its agreement with Higher Education Press in China

Brill has terminated its agreement with Higher Education Press in China to distribute Frontiers of Literary Studies in China, Frontiers of History in China, Frontiers of Law in China and Frontiers of Philosophy in China to customers outside China, effective 2020. Brill will continue to fulfil existing obligations to current customers.

Brill makes a satisfactory start in 2019

Brill’s Q1 revenues were in line with management expectations across all product lines and showed satisfactory organic growth versus the first quarter of 2018. Costs developed as planned, including savings realized as a result of the profit improvement plan launched last year.
