Sharing your Work / Self-Archiving
Brill's policies are designed to facilitate compliance with institutional and funder requirements on accessibility of their research, while also maintaining the sustainability of the journals and book series that we publish together with, and on behalf of, the academic community.
Brill allows authors to share their work in non-commercial online repositories and archives without an embargo under the following conditions.

Monographs (based on PhD theses or dissertations)
- Authors or their institutions may post the accepted manuscript version 12 months after publication in a closed repository (intranet). Such a repository is accessible to students and staff only.
- It is possible to publish a monograph in Open Access in exchange for a publication charge, even after publication. This would make it available online for everyone to access and download, as well as make possible unlimited sharing of the final published PDF. For more information, please contact openaccess@brill.com.
We trust that through this policy we allow maximum freedom of use of our publications without endangering their viability. For further information on permitted uses and permissions visit the Rights and Permissions pages. For our Open Access options, please visit our Open Access at Brill page.
