Brill's Adopt a Library Program

Launched in 2009, Brill’s Adopt a Library program each year donates a collection of books to one or two libraries primarily in developing countries. We try and combine the adoption with a capacity building activity, such as organising an author workshop on academic publishing or holding an academic seminar on a focused topic. We do this in partnership with the university libraries and sometimes also involve local partners on the ground.Libraries actively approach Brill or are recommended by Brill authors and editors. In the choice of libraries Brill seeks to match the collection with the focus of the library or the university they are part of.
