Answers

Can I use the website on mobile devices?
The new brill.com website is designed to be used on all devices: desktop, laptops, tablets and mobile phones.

Can I use the website with cookies of JavaScript disabled?
We recommend leaving cookies in place for the best possible user experience. Access to the site is possible with either cookies or JavaScript disabled, however some functions and content may not be available.

Who can I contact if I have a question about the website?
If you have any questions or feedback, please send an email to brillonline@brill.com.

Which products are hosted on brill.com and which products are hosted on other Brill platforms?
Brill.com hosts all Brill E-Journals and E-Books. We define an E-Book as an online monograph. There are separate platforms for Brill’s reference works, including the Collected Courses of the Hague Academy of International Law, primary sources, bibliographies and dictionaries. In addition, there are several resources available on standalone platforms. You can find the full overview at brillonline.com

Can I login with my account from the previous brill.com website?
Unfortunately your old account will not work and you will have to create a new account. This is very easy. Please go to the registration page to do this. You can also sign up with your ORCID, Google account or Facebook account.

Why register?
After registration you’ll be able to make use of a number of useful tools on the website. To name a few:

  • Subscribe to various e-alerts
  • Save your searches (and receive alerts on new results)
  • Set up a group with other uses
  • Subscribe to RSS feeds

You will always need to register an account when using the web shop.

Do I need to register on brill.com?
Not at all. You will be able to search our catalog without an account, as well as save searches and export them during a session. Sharing via Twitter, Facebook or Mendeley will also be possible.

What will you be doing with my personal data?
Brill complies with the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Which browsers will be supported?
We support current versions of the following browsers on Windows, Macintosh, Android and iOS platforms:

  • Google Chrome
  • Edge
  • Firefox (Mozilla)
  • Safari

Please keep in mind that no two browsers (or two versions of the same browser) will display pages in exactly the same way.

Does the website meet global accessibility standards?
Please have a look at our Accessibility statement.

A note for librarians.
Brill migrated its platform for E-Books and E-Journals (booksandjournals.brillonline.com) to Brill.com on 29 November 2018. We have prepared a special FAQ for the migration to the new platform, and will keep you updated as much as we can. Here you can find more information on all the questions you may have on the migration of this platform.
