Forthcoming Series: Critical Emotion Studies

Series Editors: Naomi Head, University of Glasgow, and Sara Tafakori, University of Leeds

Critical Emotion Studies provides a forum for innovative and interdisciplinary research on affect and emotion. The series aims to advance our understandings of North-South and global-local relations, to examine how affect and emotion travel across (post)colonial geographies, and to consider how emotions and affect shape and constitute societies and subjectivities. The editors welcome engagement with critical approaches across a wide range of fields including politics and international relations, sociology, gender studies, media and communications, and cultural studies. The editors particularly welcome work that engages with affect and emotion in the contexts of race, racism, and coloniality; bodies, sexuality, and gender; activism; indigenous politics and knowledges; migration; justice, conflict and (in)security, and changing technologies.

Manuscripts should be at least 80,000 words in length (including footnotes and bibliography). Manuscripts may also include illustrations and other visual material. The editors will consider proposals for original monographs, edited collections, translations, and critical primary source editions.

Authors are cordially invited to submit proposals and/or full manuscripts by email to the publisher Jason Prevost.

Authors will find general proposal guidelines at the Brill Author Gateway.
