Important information before submitting your request
... Please be aware that texts published with Brill are protected by international copyright laws and that a fee may be charged for re-use of those texts. In a few exceptional cases, such as authors wishing to re-use their own text in their own forthcoming monograph, no written permission is required. Please read about those exceptions under Permission to Re-Use for Brill Authors and Editors.
Occasionally Brill does not hold copyright to published works, for instance with collections of previously published articles or with illustrations. Please consult the copyright pages in the Brill publications and/or the relevant credit lines provided first, and then contact the appropriate copyright holder for permission to re-publish.
For requests which cannot be completed using CCC Marketplace (Copyright Clearance Center), please contact rights@brill.com.
It is strongly advised to start early with permission applications. As we receive a high volume of emails, we might not be able to respond in detail instantly.
