Forty-one specimens of the pontoniine shrimp genus Periclimenaeus Borradaile, 1915, from the Hawaiian region, collected between 1923 and 1937 and reported on by Charles H. Edmondson, have been re-examined. Thirty-seven are provisionally referred to P. quadridentatus (Rathbun, 1906) and two are described and illustrated as P. edmondsoni sp. nov. The systematic status of P. quadridentatus (Rathbun, 1906) and P. stylirostris Bruce, 1969, is discussed and P. marini, from Vietnam, is designated as a new species.

Two new species of pontoniine shrimp from the reefs around Cartier Island, Western Australia, are described and illustrated. Periclimenaeus ancylodactylus is identifiable from the minor second pereiopod dactyl and P. forcipulatus by the dactyl of the third pereiopod, both with unique features. Two species of this genus are already known from nearby Ashmore Reef and five more from the rest of Western Australia.
A new species of the genus Typtonychus Bruce from the Kimberley region of Western Australia is described and illustrated. The status of T. dimorphus Bruce is reconsidered and T. infaustus sp. nov. is designated. Six species of the genus Typtonychus are now known, all from the Australia-New Caledonia-Japan region. A key is provided for their identification.
