In 2014, China’s employment situation continued to improve; the employment structure was further adjusted; resident income grew faster; and the income distribution pattern started favoring workers. Household consumer prices were basically stable; the people’s living consumption showed relatively fast growth and further boosted economic growth. Continuous improvement was made in the social security system, and the level of social insurance and assistance was further increased. Public finance continued to favor the people’s livelihood and social development; non-governmental social participation continued to enhance. Meanwhile, economic and social development was subject to difficulties and challenges, various parties should make efforts to cope with them to forge ahead in the new orientation for continuous quality improvement in economic and social development.

China maintained high-speed growth and social construction in 2007. It developed the education system, constructed a powerful nation rich in human resources, positively expanded employment options and harmonized labor relations, established a fair and just income distribution system, maintained social stability and unity through the completion of a social management system. In 2007, it promulgated the Employment Promotion Law and the Labor Contract Law. Problems such as price increase, labor shortage, unemployment and rise in economic crime cases remained. In 2008, the socio-economic development maintained its positive trajectory, social construction focused on the peoples livelihood was promoted, the strength of social management system reform increased, and scientific development concepts to promote the establishment of a socialist harmonious society was implemented. To create a positive environment for secure economic development and social stability anti-corruption efforts must be continued and research and planning of important anti-corruption systems should be accelerated.
