Abstract
The line Prud. perist. 2,514 caused the interpolation of two spurious lines, each of which was made to substitute the authentic one, which itself was considered difficult or obscure. Such traces of the rimaneggiamento of the genuine text, proven by the manuscripts, should not be neglected by the editors since they bear witness to the widespread alteration of the text, often not attested by the documents, and to the existence of a critical edition in late antiquity.
