The Appeal of the Other as a Regulative Idea of Hope. Critical Pedagogy Following Emmanuel Levinas
The article defines hope and understanding as anthropological and pedagogical topics. These topics are concretized in the relationship between the I and the Other. Postcolonial perspectives as well as the philosophy of Emmanuel Levinas are used to show that a moment of power and domination is inscribed in this relationship.
