Abstract

As someone specializing in the field of the theology of spirituality, I would like to enter into a dialogue with these three researchers. Their research object, spiritual intelligence, is mine as well. A large number of source texts and individual studies on spiritual intelligence exist in the field of theology of spirituality. What is particularly fascinating is that my discipline offers a different perspective on spiritual intelligence than does that of the Finnish researchers, and so there is plenty to talk about – far more than I can touch on in the context of this reflection. I will limit my remarks about the study of Tirri et al. to 1) a critical evaluation of the theoretical framework, 2) comments concerning the design of the survey instrument, and 3) a relativisation of the results obtained to date.
