Otto SPIJKERS has been Managing Editor of our journal since Volume 5.1 in 2021, and he has worked with us very closely to produce timely and carefully edited issues through the very difficult challenges of the COVID-19 epidemic, during which he was employed at Wuhan University as Distinguished Professor in the China Institute of Boundary and Ocean Studies, as well as being associated with Wuhan Law School’s Research Institute of Environmental Law. With his new employment at Erasmus University Rotterdam School of Law and at Leiden University College in the Netherlands, we regretfully announce that Otto will relinquish the position of Managing Editor as of the end of 2023. We dearly thank him for his contribution to the journal, and we are pleased that he has agreed to stay on as a member of the journal’s Editorial Board. We look forward to continuing to work with him in that capacity.
Further, we are happy to welcome Mr Peter CORNE as our new Managing Editor as of Volume 8, to be published in 2024. Peter has worked as an Associate Editor with the editorial team on the current Special Issue, and has also contributed to a previous issue. He is a graduate of the University of Sydney Law School, and has been engaged in legal practice in Shanghai for many years, having developed a robust practice in the area of clean technology. As part of his work, he has acted as a professional arbitrator and mediator, in relation to which he was awarded a ‘Magnolia Award’ by the Shanghai Government for services to Shanghai. He was for many years in leadership positions in the European China Chamber of Commerce, including as Chair of the Legal, Energy and Environmental Working Groups. He has been an Adjunct Professor at New York University Shanghai, and is currently an Adjunct Professor at Fudan University Law School. He was also recently engaged to lecture in the Research Institute of Environmental Law of the Wuhan Law School.
