2022 will mark the 30th anniversary of the European Journal for Crime, Criminal Law and Criminal Justice. This occasion will be celebrated by a conference which will take place on 2 June 2022 in Ljubljana (hosted by the University of Maribor). The programme for the conference will be announced shortly. As part of the anniversary celebrations, the Editorial Board would like to encourage young scholars to submit articles to the Journal by holding a Young Scholars Competition.

Submitted articles may cover any topic that falls within the aims and scope of the Journal (http://www.brill.com/european-journal-crime-criminal-law-and-criminal-justice). Up to a maximum of four winners will be chosen by a jury and the successful authors will be invited to present their papers at the conference in Ljubljana. All accepted papers will also be published in the Journal. The jury reserves the right not to award a prize in the event of an insufficient number of submissions or an unsatisfactory quality of the submissions.

For the purposes of this competition, young scholars are those who have not yet reached the age of thirty-five (35) at the deadline for submission on 1 January 2022. The European Journal for Crime, Criminal Law and Criminal Justice will cover travel and accommodation costs for the winners. When submitting an article for the competition, please send an additional email to Christopher Murphy (eccleditor@outlook.com), the Journal’s Managing Editor, notifying him of your intention to participate.
