In part I the Phileas material is presented in a synopsis: on the left pages the Chester Beatty text with an English translation and a text-critical commentary, on the right pages the corresponding passages of the Passio and the Apology. The Chester Beatty text is very lacunar, but could be completed to a large extent with the help of the other texts, especially the Latin.
